Chateau

As a place for your wedding you have chosen a Chateau Jemniště which was built in 1720-1725 by Frances Adam of Trauttmansdorff. In 1868, great-grandfather Zdeněk Sternberg bought Jemniště and due to complicated social events during the 20th century it was necessary to request the return of the object back, which happened in the restitution proceeding in 1995.

George Sternberg, my husband, took Jemniště in 1995 in very bad condition and we started the reconstruction. Gradually, we have created a courtyard, Giardinetto, rock-garden, rosarium and from the beginning, we invested money to rescue 12hectare park, which was completely overgrown. We have built a cafe, restaurant, shop and three very romantic suites. As one of the most difficult tasks I consider furnishing and access to the chateau interiors.
